It was a wonderful winters evening, the sky was slightly clouded and it was snowing. Most of the kids sat watching it snow falling for the first time in December, they watched out side of their windows. The smaller children were just about starting to get ready to go to sleep. L was laid on his bed staring at the ceiling; he let out a sigh and looked out of the window for a short while. It was quite cold in his room, the radiators weren’t on and there was no source of heat a part form getting wrapped up in his bed covers. So that’s what he did, he read his book

It was almost the end of the year at Wammy’s, and it was quiet, even though it was a weekend. Almost everyone was in their room studying for the end of year tests. The tests were to determine which classes they would take next year; also everyone would be ranked by their scores. L sat on his bed reading a textbook and writing down some notes. It was L’s second to last year at Wammy’s, next year he would be in the last year and then the year after he would have to leave and get a job.
